Chorões / 'Crying babies'

É o nome que lhe dão na minha terra. No passado fim-de-semana fui até lá e gostei de os ver com estas cores ainda Outonais... Ninguém lhes disse que o Inverno já tinha chegado há muito???

'Crying babies' is the name people from my hometown call them. Last weekend I went back home to visit my parents and saw this plants with a autumn colours. No one told them winter is here a long time ago??

Are these ice plants or a variation of them? They have a great name! I wonder how this plant got the name.

If you break a 'leaf' there's a liquid substance... the 'tears', I reckon.

The ice plant (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum) has smaller leaves but they are similar. These ones (Carpobrotus edulis former mesembryanthemum edulis)have bigger leaves and only two colors (yellow and pink)and are considered envasive

never the less, in Summer time when in flower it's looks spectacular
