I have in my small conservatory a few considered micro-orchids. It's dificult to grow them as they have certain needs different from the regular sized orchids. One of this needs is a higher humidity wich is difficult to achive in a 3m x 2m conservatory and while you're also trying to please the other orchids.
I had in my shop a terrarium and I thought of using it to grow these mini-orchids.
The picture was taken on the first day.
I'll post some news about it when I have updates about the maintenance and the plant response to this new environment.

This Sunday, besides the cold, we spent some time working in the garden making jobs that were to be done a long time ago.
The rose bushes, climbing around the arch at the entry were moved to bigger containeres as they fell last time we had strong winds around here.
While my garden helper was filling the containers with soil, I dug out the Dahlia bulbs and mooved the small Magnolia and a few Fuchsias to bigger pots.
After some cleanning, the gardners were satisfied with their work.

Prostechea cochleata

A orquídea-polvo.
É a minha orquídea favorita.

The Octopus orchid.
My favourite. I can't get tired of admiring it, taking pictures, etc.
I have it in a pot and in a peace of bark.
Very easy to cultivate, it blooms every year and the flowers last weeks.
If this is not the perfect orchid... it's closer to perfection.

Cryptanthus

Finalmente começo a encontrar Cryptanthus à venda!!

aqui.

Finally, I've found some Cryptanthus.
These brazilian plants are from the Bromeliaceae familly but are terrestrials. They should be kept in a pot. The soil should have good drainage and good humidity. Ideal temperatures are between 16-29ºC. It's flowers are surprisingly beautiful.
They are also related to the pineapple plant.

This pot was cleaned and replanted last september. Now it has only sempervivum and other simmilar shapped succulents.
Anyone knows a good book to help me identified them??

Novembro no meu jardim.

É assim, a vida no meu jardim...

The autumn is now established!
There are leaves everywhere and I have no time to clean them.
The Dahlias are far gone and its bulbs wait to get out of the pot and rest somewhere else! Other bulbs comment that I'm also late to plant them!
All the succulents complaint because are still left out in the rain. The Maple trees are starting to show new growths. I cut them just a bit to get rid of some dead wood.
The Fuchsias laught! They are loving all the rain besides the cold!
The weeds play hide and seek and pop out everywhere!
That's life in my small garden!

The Azaleas came to say hello!
